Ingathering

Ingathering

Ingathering is a yearly program of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church, enabling members to invite others to collaborate to address the world’s needs. This initiative is a tripartite collaboration between God, the church, and the global community.

It originated in North America in 1908 and hassince developed into a prominent humanitarian outreach program of the World Church, expanding steadily over the years. This campaign encourages members to solicit donations from their local communities.

Objectives of Harvest Ingathering

The primary objectives of the Harvest Ingathering include:

  • Community Engagement: Church members actively reach out to the local community through home and business visits, sharing the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church while respectfully seeking support and contributions.

  • Awareness Raising: This initiative provides a platform to inform and educate the public about the church’s humanitarian efforts and its commitment to alleviating human suffering.

  • Fundraising for Projects: The funds collected are strategically allocated to address specific, urgent needs in both local and global contexts through targeted initiatives that drive meaningful impact.

How Money is Used

The funds raised through the Harvest Ingathering campaign are utilized in various ways, including:

  • Humanitarian Aid: Supporting food distribution, disaster relief, and assistance for vulnerable populations, such as the homeless and impoverished families.

  • Educational Support: Funding tuition costs for students and providing resources for after-school programs.

  • Community Services: Financing local health initiatives, clothing drives, and shelter programs aimed at helping those in need.

  • Evangelism: Supporting church planting efforts and outreach activities that spread the gospel message.

The SDA Church emphasizes that this campaign is not solely about raising money but also about fostering relationships within communities and sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

Each member’s participation is seen as a vital contribution to fulfilling the church’s service and outreach mission.
